 Staff Opinion Surveys

The staff opinion survey offers a valuable means of obtaining individual and collective feed-back on organisational quality and health, performance, behaviour and conditions, and about peoples’ feelings and attitudes towards their employer.

Surveys are undertaken anonymously and in confidence by us as independent recorders so that all opinions are unattributable and of equal validity. Our analyses portray and quantify current views of the respondents on a thoroughly prepared range of organisational features.

The results give profound insight to everyone about the current state of an organisation – often at significant variance from hearsay, influential beliefs and openly voiced opinions.

Survey findings can therefore provide vital factual material to inform policy-making and to guide organisational development plans and methods.

Each survey needs to be tailored to a client’s needs and circumstances, and employee communications about the process need to be well managed.

A typical range of topics that a staff survey might cover would include the following, answered from both an individual viewpoint and in terms of collective behaviour and performance:

Communications
Clarity of purpose and organisation
Dealing with customers
Job clarity and satisfaction
Pay and benefits
Perceptions of the employer
Training and career development
Perceptions of management
Career intentions

Findings can be benchmarked against the profiles of responses of other organisations.
